On March 10,
2004 William L. Taylor, III passed away after a two year battle with cancer.
PLE Security & Investigations evolved form Professional Law Enforcement,
Inc., which was started by Mr. Taylor in 1981. Mr. Taylor was the founding
father of corporate undercover drug investigations.
In 1981, Bill
Taylor founded Professional Law Enforcement, Inc. to provide independent
undercover drug investigation expertise to business and government. As one
of the nation’s leading authorities on undercover investigations and the
issue of drugs in the workplace, Mr. Taylor appeared on several network television news shows, including CBSs 48
Hours and ABCs Nightline, as well as the international documentary on undercover
investigations, America Undercover.
Mr. Taylor served as a
speaker for the White House Conference for a Drug Free America and has been invited to
testify before the Congressional task force responsible for developing the Drug-Free
Workplace Act of 1988. In addition, Mr. Taylor has been a guest lecturer for numerous
professional associations, law enforcement and security industry seminars, the American
Bar Association, and community organizations. A resolution has been passed by the Ohio
Senate honoring Mr. Taylor for his outstanding efforts on behalf of a drug-free America.
Prior to establishing Professional
Law Enforcement in 1981,
Bill Taylor worked with several law enforcement agencies to design and execute undercover
drug investigations. During his tenure as alaw enforcement officer, he was credited with the arrest and conviction of some of the
most powerful drug dealers in the State of Ohio. In addition to his investigative
background, Bill Taylor possessed solid experience in sales and training, having operated
his own retail business, supervised sales training for Pitney Bowes, and gained extensive
sales experience through his work at National Cash Register Corporation (NCR).
Mr. Taylor was an
active member of the American Society of Industrial Security, International
Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association, National Sheriffs’ Association,
and International Association of Chiefs of Police. |
