TRAINING
PROGRAMS
Once the entire school safety plan has
been developed, it is important to train the districts staff members.
Unfortunately there are only a few in-service days a year and those in service
days are typically needed to review educational issues. That is why PLE has
developed a cadre of training aids. These aids consist of the following:
-
Individual PowerPoint Presentations and other study
material covering each of the protocols outlined in the crisis management
plan.
-
An optional on-line test for staff members to take after
the self study material has been reviewed.
-
On-line record keeping of your employees who have completed
each training sessions and the date completed.
-
The opportunity for staff members to ask a specific
question on-line or through email to PLE’s experienced personnel. Questions
are typically submitted through the principal’s office before being sent to
PLE and the detailed responses are then returned to the principal’s office for
distribution.
-
PLE offers on-site or web based “Train the Trainer”
training for select school employees who, once trained, can then train the
remainder of the school staff. PLE makes available the entire library of
training materials we have developed to the school’s trainers.
Having a
well-thought out, well-developed plan is critical; however, making sure the
people who have to utilize the plan in the event of a crisis is equally
important. PLE can help ensure your staff members are well-trained on each of
the critical protocols outlined in our crisis management plan.
